Elyse Austin

Elyse graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Architecture in 2022. Her interest in architecture and design developed during a childhood spent drawing, making and building. Exposure to the architectural industry through her family taught her to appreciate her surroundings from a design perspective.

Elyse’s time as a student developed her understanding of the interaction between the built environment and people; particularly the impact on issues such as climate change and resource pressures. She also progressed her design and technical skills. She enjoys the graphic and diagramming aspects of projects, visually explaining design concepts in a way that is accessible to clients.

Prior to joining Tranquil Architecture, Elyse undertook a university internship with Townsend and Associates, and after graduating, spent six months working for Collins Pennington Architects.

Elyse values climate and site responsive design, which encourages connection with the outdoors. She looks forward to further developing her skills and being involved in creating people focused designs.
